Grand Total for week 1

Well, a week has passed. . . and after lots of trying to make up points (mainly from P) the grand totals are:

E = 34
P = 34

A draw!! Amazing. . . at least we don't have to do any punishments!

Bring on next week!

  2. There is nothing wrong with my adding up, but I have to keep my eye on you trying to slip points in!

    We need to clarify a few things before next week:

    A snack means a healthy snack, so you can't just have a piece of bread and get a point. When you get the book, you should see a list of acceptable snacks.

    Other fruit - I'm wondering if we should ger 1/2 point for these, cos at the moment we only get a point for beries, but eating other fruit is healthy.
    Same with veg, although a lot of veg has no goodness in, so should not be counted, like spring onions!

    Rye crisp bread - I think I should get a point for this as its got the same ingredients in as bread, hasn't in?

    Anything else?

  3. Yes I agree that a snack means a healthy snack not just a piece of bread although does it have to be a power food like berries. I think you should get 1 point for a healthy snack i.e a bannana or apple and 2 points if you manage this to be one of the power foods i,e berries or Almonds daily allowance of peanut butter.
    Also now agree veg can only be counted as a point if it comes under greens i.e spinach and dark green cabbage water cress ect.

    I see you have been scoring points for Rye crisp bread although this this is made out of rye and not whole grain flour so really is not in the list. If it is to be in the list then two pieces a day restriction and only 1 point overall the same as my whole grain bread.

    Just noticed when did Humous score any points its not in the list but you scored it as a point last week

    Need to see healthy snack list

  4. Oh and are we allowed extra snacks of power food or only at snack time

  5. Hummous is made from beans so it i a power food, just looked it up in book.

    You are only allowed power food snack at snack time otherwise you'll have to deduct a point for going over snack limit.

  6. What beans count then runner beans I would guess or broad beans, not baked beans. What about Rye did you agree with that

  7. I have been doing some research and it seems Rye has very similar qualities to wheat, that it should be included. It has same fibre, vitamins, and is even better for you!

    You know what this means??? I did actually win last week as I missed of scoring rye or hummous one time - but I'll let you off, and it can stay a draw :-)

  8. Beans = mung beans, chick peas, kidney beans, pinto and soybeans.

    Baked beans not allowed as high in sugar, but peas are allowed.

  9. No you didnt win as you also didnt put your minus pointds in for more than two alchoholic drinks lol. But last week will be considered a learning curve. Are Peas a power food or not and although humous is healthy and more than willing to let it on the list it wasnt last week.

    What about Rye then must be the same as bread only 1 point per two bits and no more than two bits a day.

  10. You forgot your alcohol as well ;-)

    Rye is same as bread so 1 point for 2-3 bits (its a lot smaller than slice of bread)

    Peas? I guess they are a power food.

    Humous is in the book under legumes and beans, but didn't have it on our list - mistake.
